100% Natural & Traditionally Crafted Liquid Castile Soap
Concentrated, Customisable, Iconic.
An icon of natural skincare, reborn with modern clarity.
Our Liquid Castile Soap Concentrate is inspired by centuries of traditional soapmaking—but evolved for today’s makers, brands, and conscious consumers. Rich, versatile, and 100% natural. This is not just soap. It’s a base for everything.
💧 1L of concentrate typically makes 2–3kg of finished product, like Body Wash — depending on your desired consistency. Easily thickened with salt or gums.
One base. Every clean imaginable.
Rooted in the legacy of Castilian (Spain) soap from centuries past, this concentrated base honours traditional simplicity—crafted with just oils and lye—but reimagined for today’s standards of purity and performance.
With a 31% active surfactant level, it offers a rich, soft-foaming cleanse that is gentle yet effective on skin, surfaces, and even pets.
Formulated with potassium olivate and potassium cocoate—saponified oils of olive and coconut—it brings together nourishing hydration and reliable cleansing in one beautifully balanced liquid.
Whether you're creating hand washes, body cleansers, baby products, pet shampoo, or household cleaners—this is your foundation. No synthetic foaming agents. No artificial thickeners. No compromises. Just a pure, natural soap that gives you the power to customise, dilute, scent, and expand.
Consistency / Thickness
This base is ultra-concentrated (31% Active Surfactant Levels).
*Typical active surfactants in Low-range Liquid soaps are between: 5-10%
*Typical active surfactants in Mid-range Liquid soaps are between: 10-20%
*Typical active surfactants in Premium Liquid soaps are: 20%+
This is an ultra-concentrated Castile soap—crafted with a 31% active surfactant level for high performance and versatility. Unlike many liquid soaps on the market, we do not use added salt (sodium chloride) to artificially thicken this base. Why? Because doing so can compromise clarity, potentially irritate sensitive skin, and reduce the soap’s ability to rinse clean.
By keeping it unthickened, we give you complete control over how you use it—whether you prefer a thinner solution for sprayable household products or a thicker consistency for body washes and hand soaps.
💡 Want to thicken it? Use natural gum-based thickeners or prepare a 20–25% salt solution (dissolve plain table salt in warm distilled water). Slowly add it drop by drop to your cooled soap while stirring gently. Stop when your desired thickness is reached—a little goes a long way.
This flexible format means less waste, better performance, and more ways to make it your own.

How To Customise
This base is ultra-concentrated (31% Active Surfactant Levels), so a little goes a long way. Dilute it based on your needs using distilled water and customise it with essential oils, botanical extracts, or hydrosols.

*Typical active surfactants in Mid-range Liquid soaps are between: 10-20%

How to Dilute with Water
-
Always use distilled or filtered water for dilution — this helps prevent microbial growth and maintains clarity.
-
Slowly add pre-measured warm water, blending gently to avoid excess foam.
-
Allow your diluted mix to settle overnight for the best clarity and stability.
-
For thicker results, see Thickening Tips below.
How to Add Essential Oils to Liquid Castile Soap
*Always patch-test a small area before initial use.
1. Choose Skin-Safe Essential Oils
Select high-quality, skin-safe oils like lavender, tea tree, peppermint, or eucalyptus.
Avoid phototoxic oils (e.g., cold-pressed citrus) or known irritants in rinse-off products.
Please note that some essential oils may thicken or thin out the mixture - add water or a salt solution gradually to adjust the consistency until your desired texture is achieved.
2. Use the Right Ratio
🗸 A general guideline is 0.5%–2% of total product weight.
For example: In 100g of soap, use 0.5g to 2g of essential oil.
Always refer to the specific usage recommendations for your chosen essential oil—some oils are more potent or sensitising than others.
⚠️ Essential oils are powerful—more is not always better. When in doubt, start low and increase cautiously.
3. Blend Gently
Add essential oils slowly into your soap and stir gently to combine.
Avoid vigorous mixing to prevent foaming.
Note: Some oils may naturally separate. A quick shake before use can help—but for a more permanent solution, see below.
Optional: Heat & Blend (Recommended)
To better incorporate oils:
-
Warm the soap gently over low heat (~5 minutes).
-
Add essential oils and blend with a stick blender for 30–60 seconds.
-
Stir occasionally as it cools.
-
Once fully cooled, transfer to a clean bottle.
Optional: Use a Solubiliser - For a Crystal-Clear Finish
If your soap looks cloudy or separates:
-
Add a professional solubiliser, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
This helps disperse essential oils evenly in the water-based formula.
4. Always Patch Test First
Apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist or elbow. Wait 24 hours before wider use.
Thickening:
💡 Want to thicken it? Use natural gum-based thickeners or prepare a 20–25% salt solution (dissolve plain table salt in warm distilled water). Slowly add it drop by drop to your cooled soap while stirring gently. Stop when your desired thickness is reached—a little goes a long way.
