🛁 Soak Ritual Discovery Kit — Instructions

🛡️ Safety & Storage

  • IMPORTANT: Do not exceed 6 drops of essential oil per bath (or do not add more than 220 g of salt (1 cup) when following this recipe).
  • Be careful not to add too much carrier oil to your salt — it can cause the bathtub to become slippery. Always be mindful that the bathtub could become slippery when using the salts.
  • Never add undiluted essential oils directly to bath water — always blend with salts and carrier oil.
  • For children or sensitive skin, use fewer drops of essential oil.
  • If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have preexisting health conditions, we recommend seeking medical advice before using the ingredients in this kit as a precaution.
  • Always use clean, dry tools and bowls when handling your salts.
  • Store finished salts in airtight containers, in a cool, dry and dark place.
  • Use within 6–12 months for the best aroma and freshness.

🌿 How it Works + Tips

This kit is designed for discovery — you can create different styles of salt soaks depending on your mood and skin’s needs:

  • Go heavy on Himalayan salt for a mineral-rich spa-like soak.
  • Epsom salt is magnesium-rich and great for tired muscles.
  • Bicarb soda softens water and skin — add more for silky, soothing baths, or leave it out for a classic salt-only soak.
  • Mix + match — try blending all three bases or spotlighting one salt depending on your ritual.
  • Make small batches first (1–2 cups at a time) to test your favourite balance of salts, oils, and botanicals.
  • Less is more with oils — never exceed 6 drops per soak.
  • Keep notes of your favourite “rituals” so you can recreate them later.

🧂 Full Salt Soak Recipe & Method — Standard 1 kg Batch

Makes: 1 kg of soak salts

  1. Prep
    • Lay out your bowl, jars, and ingredients.
    • Ensure everything is clean and dry — moisture causes clumping.
  2. Choose Your Salt Base Ratio
    • You are in control: Mix all three salts together in a blend that suits your skin, or follow the ratios in the test batch, or try this alternative blend:
    • 330 g Himalayan Salt
    • 330 g Epsom Salt
    • 330 g Bicarb Soda (for silky water and skin softening)
  3. Add Carrier Oil
    • Measure 16–20 g Carrier Oil into a beaker.
    • IMPORTANT: Be mindful that oil can make the bath slippery, so rinse well before standing, or use less if this may be an issue with your bath surface.
  4. Add Essential Oils to Carrier Oil
    • Add up to 8–24 drops of Essential Oil.
    • Stir gently to combine.
    • Tip: Start with less Essential Oil — you can always add more if needed later, but be sure to blend it into the Carrier Oil. Do not add Essential Oil straight to the salt.
    • ⚠️ Do not exceed 24 drops per 1 kg of salts (≈ 0.8 g EO).
  5. Blend Into Salts
    • Drizzle oil mixture evenly over your salts.
    • Stir thoroughly until evenly coated.
  6. Add Clay (Optional)
    • Sprinkle in up to 10–20 g Clay.
    • Mix until colour and texture are even.
  7. Add Botanicals (Optional)
    • Mixed-In: Stir through for texture and colour.
    • Decorative: Sprinkle on top when packaging.
  8. Package & Store
    • Scoop salts into airtight jars or pouches.
    • Label with scent, date made, and notes.
    • Store in a cool, dark place.

✨ Usage

  • Add ½–1 cup of salt to a warm (but not hot) bath.
  • ⚠️ Important: If following this recipe, Do Not add more than 1 cup of solution to your bath, as it may exceed safe Essential Oil Limits.
  • We recommend testing a small amount of salts (¼ cup) initially in bath water to see how your skin responds.
  • Stir the water to dissolve.
  • Soak, relax, and enjoy your custom creation.

Important: Be careful when using the soak in your shower/bath. The carrier oil can cause the floor to become slippery. Always be mindful that the floor could become slippery when using the salts. Avoid adding more carrier oil than is advised in this recipe.
