How To Use Your Liquid Castile Soap Concentrate

This is an ultra-concentrated base (30% Active Surfactant) — allowing you to dilute and customise it to suit your specific needs.

💧 1L of concentrate typically makes 1.5–3kg of finished product depending on your desired surfactant level.

How to Dilute

1. Always use distilled or filtered water to maintain clarity and prevent microbial growth.
2. Measure water in a separate jug and warm it to just warm — never boiling.
3. Slowly add the warm water to the base while stirring gently.
4. ⚠️ Tip: Stir slowly to avoid foam.
5. Allow to settle overnight for optimal clarity and stability.

How to Add Essential Oils

• Choose high-quality, skin-safe essential oils.
• Use 0.5%–2% of total soap weight (e.g. 0.5g–2g per 100g).
• Stir gently while adding to your diluted soap.
• Allow to settle overnight.

💡 Note: Some essential oils may thicken or thin the soap. Adjust with base or water as needed. For clarity, use a solubiliser.

Optional: How to Thicken

• Use natural gum-based thickeners (e.g. xanthan gum).
• Or prepare a salt solution: 10g Salt + 40g Distilled Water = 50g 20% Salt Solution.
• Add salt solution drop-by-drop to cooled soap while stirring gently.

Customising Your Castile Soap

Substitute part of your water content with:

• Herbal Infusions (Chamomile, Calendula, Green Tea)
• Glycerites (Plant Extracts in Glycerine)
